More Dash then Cash

I fell in love with this spread a couple of months ago in British Vogue. I've had a thing for creepers for years, even better when their paired with ruffles galore. This is the way I wish I could dress... or afford. I have delayed writing this for days because frankly school work is killing me. Anyway, enough of me talking:
(above) this is my favorite, mostly because I loveeeee red socks. Images taken from aldonzalovely.blogspot.com-- the only place I could find this.

cue "you raise me up" in the background

Here is a haiku I wrote about Lily.

Vinnies paisley vests,
Cupcakes with sprinkles on them,
Yes she can speak French.

As you can tell i'm not very good at writing haiku's.

I just realized my blog looks like a freaky tribute/homage page.
Lily is my neighbor, she has good taste in music, her friends are alternative and weird. She likes to drink alcohol and wear socks. I like her shoes. I'm going to steal her shoes. Her room is so postmodern it makes mine look like crap. Dim sims.

Comme des Garçons F/10

I was a relative new comer to Comme des Garçons, in fact I only really ventured out of the way from my style.com ipod podcasts to search and see what the big deal was about. That was around the time of the fall 2009 show.
I was amazed, stunned, bewildered... everything, I watched the show at least 15 times. I'd never seen something that beautiful, such unusual cuts and fabric contrasts, not to mention all the ideas in one collection. It was all very new and very exciting. Because sadly... and I hate to admit this, I only really knew the "big names" and only really paid attention to those ones, but after watching that fall 2009 show, I was converted, I saw fashion differently, I saw that it didn't need to be stylish or trendy or necessarily wearable-- to me fashion became very interesting and not so foreign. Since then she's become one of my favorite designers and I watch her shows every season and fill up my destop with pictures of her collections... then get told off by my dad for using up the downloads... but its worth it every time!

In so many ways I realize I'm amazingly dorky. I like flicking through images of nebula's and space colonies and can talk about the latest John Galliano show for at least five minutes only to find the person I'm talking to lost me on "bias cut drapery with elements of mens tailoring". I make lists in my mind of favorite directors, films, english bands and artists without realizing, then get called pretentiously cultured. I collect LPs, robots and comic books... you wan to know the entire life story of Supergirl? I'm your man! I own an obscene amount of vintage dresses, and think of buying Korean sweaters with talking pigs on them from Yesstyle because that kind of thing is "cute" to me. I've listened to the soundtrack of O' Brother Where art Thou at least 20 times, have 183 Beatles songs and 153 Cure songs and on my iPod. I read Stephen King Horror books and talk to my Textiles teacher about the Patridge Family and the good ol' 70s... I'm 16 for god sake! I worry about not being able to connect with people, partly because my school is an Australian version of chavtowns. But then I remind myself that my friends are just as dorky as me, and they wouldn't even consider that unjust.
Just consider this a belated introduction.
And just consider that a terribly random picture of
some Macaroons I saw in Paris a couple of weeks ago.
